Check in process was fine, staff was pleasant. Room was in worse shape than the pictures & smelled like stale cigarette smoke. I get that it was an inexpensive room, but won’t be back.
We had a really nice time, the room was clean, and the staff was accommodating. The area had places open late which was great since we didn’t check in until past 6pm. My toddler loved it, she said she loved the bathroom haha. Thank you so much, we’ll definitely be making future reservations.
Pleasantly surprised with the great beds and pillows. Economic Catskills option. To be honest, for your benefit, some shady looking people around that are perfectly harmless. Clean room, good bath facilities and great beds.

The exterior surroundings of the property need to be made more attractive and tidy. The room was clean. However the bed was not comfortable.
The staff was helpful and friendly.
The motel was in a pretty quiet neighborhood, despite some traffic.
I didn't like the face that there was no microwave in the rooms, but the place was good overall
Very innexpensive motel, that being said, this motel was VERY clean 👍 (floors, bed and bathroom). Hard vinyl floors (not carpet)👍. Good sized mini-fridge 👍. Our car broke down and had to replace the water pump on my car in the motel parking lot (all day job) owner even lent me a couple of tools and was very empathetic which was the highlight of our stay. 👍. We had to stay an extra night because by the time I was done with fixing car, it was too late to drive back home (3 hour drive). Great owner!!! More than I expected from a innexpensive motel. We stayed in room 50. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Was in the area for three shows at Bethel Woods. This motel stuck to the basics, room was good, and it was a great value especially considering the scarcity and high cost of places to stay closer to Bethel Woods. Worth the 45 minute drive to Bethel; staff very kind as well!

The property itself is older but the room was very clean and the bathroom newly remodeled. Bed was comfortable and it was quiet. Conveniently located on the main road through this area.
The room was surprisingly good .
No frills to be sure but when a shower and bed is all you need.. you have it there.
Now , the weird sounds of giant pieces of tin foil being crinkled outside of the window was irritating. AND i drove passed the location thinking “no way !that can’t be the place “ zero curb appeal

This is a cheap motel. It’s clean, it’s safe, the bed king bed was new and clean. There was no dresser or hangers for the rail. There is a fridge TV, clean shower toilet sink. If you’re looking for a cheap place to stay while hiking for a night, it’s great. If you’re fussy, you should look somewhere else.
There are places to eat on a nearby street (5 or 6 restaurants). One was very popular and we couldn’t get in. The Italian was okay/fine.
Yes, when I pulled up, I was like you’ve got to be kidding but this is the only game in town so it was like stay here or drive 30 miles. That’s where they gotch ya…. places really rundown otherwise I mean it seemed comfortable. Room was really smelly like they were hiding stuff with Cleaners

The Village Motel is a reasonable deal for the money. The motel itself is run-down, and there are some spots on the stairs and balcony that feel a touch dangerous. Also, the deadbolt on my room didn't work, which was a touch unnerving.
That said, the service was good and the room was spotless. The bed was firm, the water pressure was strong, the AC was outstanding, and the towels were clean. Overall, I'd say it was very basic lodging at a very low price. I won't be staying there again, but I slept well while I was there.
great location- dirty, run down and poor managemen
The check in area was filthy and had a terrible stench. the front doors were so dirty you could not see through them. the check in people were rude. We stayed because we were there for an event and there was no place else to stay within 20 minutes away. the room was no as bad as the rest of the place which is old, falling apart, garbage and cigarette butts in the parking area. this motel needs to be torn down or purchased by a chain that can revive it, as the location is great.
Driving up to the property, I was instantly regretting my choice to stay there. Check in was quick. We decided to check out our room before heading to a function. The two possible crack heads hanging outside their room swayed our decision to leave suitcases in the room while we were away! The room itself had been redone recently…new floors, tiles in bathroom etc. no hand towels or tissues and I failed to find any smoke detector in the room. Bed was metal framed, fairly new mattress but felt like lying on a box spring to sleep. My husband noticed all the windows of this ground floor room were unlocked! I would have never noticed if I was alone. Second night there, loud noises from the couple directly overhead that lasted past midnight…luckily we use ear plugs! For us, one and done.
Almost forgot, when dropping off my key another visitor showed me bites all along his arm that he was reporting to staff, my first thought was bedbugs but after describing it to my husband he said it was a spider bite.
The Village Motel is a rustic and practical stay that is clearly in the midst of an awkward adolescence. It was a straightforward and well-priced stay for a clean room and a quick night's sleep. We would definitely stay again.
It echos the awkward tensions between the rural mountain-village Ellenville I knew twenty years ago, and this newer, budding town that has your mainstay fast food chains as well as bistros and finer restaurants that are piloting daring farm to table experiences.
Village Motel seems to be making the earnest effort to keep up, and is in the process of making renovations. The staff is soft-spoken and kind. Our room was spotless. Priorities seem to be appropriately placed, as we had everything we needed, while the main office was filled with supply boxes and the outside (as the photos indicate) is very much dated.
Also, while the amenities indicates a fridge upon request (perhaps previously a communal offering in the main office?), we had a mini fridge private to our room, so that may be something to look forward to as renovations continue!
I felt possessed to place this review because i do think some other reviewers have been unfair and have expected something from the Village Motel that it otherwise has not advertised itself as. We had the experience pictured and described in the Expedia brochure. It's appropriately priced for what it promises and subsequently succeeds in delivering.
The Hotel exterior was run down, but the room , although sparse and stark, was clean. Bed was comfy. Staff barely spoke. This is a place you go to when you only need a quick overnight stay, like for a Concert.
