"Geographically The Atlantis is central to great shopping in the Spencer St DFO, walking distance to the MCG or if transport is needed there are trains, trams, buses and taxis all within easy walking distance.
For a quiet moment The Flagstaff Gardens are very close by to sit and reflect.
The Hotel itself is quiet and the friendly and helpful staff are always available. It’s very safe to stay in, and some rooms have excellent city views that by night are mesmerizing. Rooms are cleaned daily and staff always meet the needs of the client if possible.
Totally recommend The Atlantis.
The Marvel Stadium is close by for those who love Football."
"Staff were friendly. Maintenance on rooms and overall cleanliness was pretty mid. There were white stains on the side of the bed, that I really didn't want to think too much about. It was quite a warm weekend I was staying and the cooling was pretty average. Couldn't open the window because you know city pigeons and street noise. Location is pretty spot on for being in the CBD. Close to amazing restaurants, cafes trains and trams"
"Room was good, but the couch was stained. Great shower. Great reception staff.
Probably, the worst buffet breakfast and buffet staff. Ran out of bread, coffee machine not working, out of juices, no spoons, out of milk, out of butter it actually was funny (7th June) When I approached staff and asked about re-fill I was referred to three different people. Finally, I got hold of the manager and at least the bread for toast finally was fixed as was the coffee machine. Everything else...no. I told her it was the worst breakfast of all time and terribly managed.
As I travel frequently and stay in 5-star hotels this was a joke. Ice cream sticks for stirrers, PFD sugar sachets no mugs for tea just not even 3 stars come on people do better not that hard. Should be giving at least 2 free bottles of water in suites but had to pay $5.00.
Despite this I have the best curry puffs ever when I ordered room service absolutely delicious. A mix bag of good and bad in this very dated hotel."
"Rooms have a shocking smell ... nothing the staff can do. They tried to assist but the property has issues .. our rooms smelled so bad but we had no choice in this budget range.
Well done to the staff for trying.
Hotel of last resort!"
"Staff were helpful, room okay did not request king bed asked for a double booking made through Expedia. Room right near the lift which I know someone has to have but not ideal. Had a small meal prior to 6 pm at the Collins restaurant which was fine, breakfast arrived 8.30 am seated quickly staff were good. The Meal which we had small spoon of baked beans, mushrooms, scrambled egg, bacon were nearly cold only hot item was the hash brown. Two coffees to follow were good, staff was very good. Very disappointed for $100 breakfast which was uneatable, not enjoyed, and not up to the standard one may expect. They became very busy a long queue a hand rail to ascend but no rail to leave, very dangerous. The front staff and the gentleman who organised our taxi very helpful, perhaps not the experience we were hoping for."
