"The room was brilliant. Everything we needed was there. The staff member on reception was extremely helpful from the start and whenever we needed anything from the bar it was never too much trouble for her to leave what she was doing to serve us.
The young lady on reception told us that we would not be disappointed with the breakfast the following morning and we were definitely not disappointed. This was a leisure break but I have to travel with work regularly and so have experienced many hotels and so have to say that the staff at breakfast were again extremely helpful and polite. The range of food laid on for breakfast was amazing. We did try the cooked breakfast and this was cooked to order and tasted absolutely fantastic.
This B&B has plenty of character in every room and we felt comfortable sitting in the lounge area in the evening with a drink to relax. Plenty of board games left around for guests to use should they want. A highly recommended B&B."
Regarded as one of the most impressive castles in Wales, visitors to Carew Castle can trace the structure’s history from Norman fortifications to when it became an Elizabethan country home owned by Sir John Perrot, possibly an illegitimate son of Henry VIII, before its eventual abandonment in the 17th Century. Several notable features have resulted, including earthworks created by Royalist defenders during the Civil War and window frames dating to Tudor times that were made of imported Cotswold stone that stands out against the local limestone used for the rest of the building.
