"It started out poorly.
I called the night before and asked the lady at the desk how to make a note that I needed to be on the ground floor, and she told me to leave a note online. Then, in the morning before I started my 7-hour drive, I called and spoke to Shelly, who confirmed, "Yes, we saw your note, and you are good to go for the first floor." So I am thinking, great: I used the online resource and confirmed with an actual human; I should be good to go.
Not so fast. When I got there, Alex informed me that I was not on the ground floor and there were no king beds, etc. I told him what I did, and he acknowledged it was not ok. He got me another room on the second floor, and it worked out ok, but I need the ground floor. I wish Shelly had followed through on what she said to me. I tend to think people have the best intentions; maybe she was too busy to provide that level of service for me?
The conclusion: Alex is such a positive person and is always trying to help. It is so hard to be mad; he genuinely seems to care and makes the best effort to be helpful. He is a ROCK STAR!! And I am always impressed when I visit. I will be back again, probably 5-10 times a year, as I now have a home in NM, and I like to break up that trip with a stop in Lubbock when I am driving from New Braunfels."
