「Lovely room lots of character. The food is excellent and clearly very popular indeed the local area, definitely reserve a table. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They had a breakfast sandwich ready for me to leave early for work which was much appreciated. Will definitely stay again 」

「The cost for the rooms, dinner and drinks was very expensive for what it was. The bedroom I stayed in had a broken blind which let the light in, the bedside lamp was also broken, the Manager was grumpy, but two very nice waitresses. Otherwise not to be recommended at that price.」

「Usually when I’m not happy with a stay, I just put it down to experience and don’t bother to review it. Our stay at the Hawk was a long journey breaker, so we arrived latish, and left early. On this occasion I just think it is worth giving my thoughts, on room 4 at least: Positives - nice bedroom decor, lovely bed/ bedding, friendly staff. Negatives- TV… no signal, didn’t work at all, aerial lead simply didn’t fit properly… and had to have been that way for a while. Bathroom… some nice fittings,...

「The staircase to our room is winding, and I need to go up and down before arriving at my room. The wall is thin and is not very sound proof, so I can hear what next door's saying and TV noise. It could be disturbing to someone during time for bed. There could be some seepage at the bath tub as there was a pool of water on the toilet floor after my shower, even though there was a glass door to stop water from splashing over to the floor. 「Very friendly and accommodating staff. Recently refurbished bar, restaurant and rooms. Most powerful shower I’ve ever had! I had a lovely Sunday Roast whilst there too.」
