  • The largest living creature on earth, the General Sherman tree, is close to 2,200 years old. Imagine; the tree was a mere seedling when King Solomn built his temple in Jerusalem, a sapling when Christ was born. The General generates enough wood each year to produce a 60-foot tall tree of average size. Dozens of giant sequoia are neighbors to the General; the half-mile downhill trail into the Giant Forest offers access to the General and all the beautiful and hardy creatures. Just be aware returning to the parking lot requires a gentle, uphill walk. It was certainly worth the trip. Did not use the pool in Oct but looked nice and Clean. The price is way to High for a Motel on the hwy way but was nice all around.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. One thing people need to know is that there's no elevator. If you need a 1st floor room, the hotel needs to know that when you make a reservation. The very nice front desk clerk said you can write it in the comments or requests section of your reservation.

Front desk staff extremely rude. Need coaching in customer service and attitude. For $255 per night you would think they would be more welcoming.Pool key did not work. We only spent one night there as we were traveling through, but would never return.
