Not sure how the Wilderness Inn cabins receive such high ratings, other than the price was very reasonable. I have stayed at other locations in the Wilmington area during my spring and fall fishing trips over the past twenty years, but this was the first time I stayed at a Wilderness Inn cabin (Norway). I decided to book a quick, last minute, one night trip and found the Wilderness Inn to have the best price through Expedia. After the initial booking contact I found additional communications to be somewhat lacking, but it did not prevent me from getting into my cabin upon arrival. I found the access driveway into the cabin to be a rough, unimproved dirt road and was glad it wasn’t raining, as that drive could have become a muddy mess. As for the cabin itself, I found it to be cozy and reasonably clean, with comfortable beds and a roomy bathroom with tub/shower with plenty of towels and hot water provided by an on-demand tankless water heater. The in-cabin wood burning fireplace would be awesome in cooler weather. Be advised that there is virtually no closet space, which was not a problem for a one night stay for one person, but could be an issue for longer stays with more people. In room amenities included a TV, microwave and coffee maker, but be advised the microwave is very small.
During my stay in mid-May I found no restaurants in the area open. Evidently everything is closed until the Memorial Day weekend.
In summary, would I stay there again? Yes!
