Property was/ is re- roofing hotel. It would have been nice to know before booking.
First room offered, bathroom was dingy, tiles in shower cracked, rust around bottom of bathroom door, from shower runoff. Toilet seat very loose.
Beach is not the clear water you expect from the Keys, because it is a enclosed bay. Water is dark, can’t see bottom at all.
Staff was nice enough to move us to a different room. Somewhat better. Showers are all tiled, and definitely in need of improvement.
Breakfast was good. Staff in that area very friendly.
This is the first Hampton Inn i have stayed at that you needed your room key card even to enter from any outside door too. Not sure what this says about the safety of the surrounding areas… not a big inconvenience, and maybe a good thing to most.
Just came from Hampton Inn Key West, and this one unfortunately pales in comparison.
