「We stayed in a ground floor twin room at the Cromwell Arms during the heatwave of July 2026. The room was pleasant, the beds comfortable. Whilst there was an additional heater in the wardrobe, a fan would have been gratefully received. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. All the staff we encountered were helpful and pleasant. Overall a good place to stay.」

「Great place to stay with only a one minute walk †o the beach across the hotel's garden. The room was fine but the tv was a bit small to watch the tennis - joke. The breakfasts were excellent and the staff very helpful.」

「Lovely location with available parking outside the property or on the roadside. Beautiful views of the beach out of our bedroom window. Room was clean and comfortable with the expected basics provided. Staff were helpful and informative and keen to make our stay enjoyable. Breakfast was a served full English which can be adapted to suit individual needs. All in all, I would recommend this hotel and I look forward to staying here again.」

「I booked the hotel as it says that it had air conditioning. It doesn’t when i asked the staff they were rude and unhelpful. This is a rundown overpriced relic of a hotel. The gentleman on reception was the rudest person i have ever encountered. Avoid」

「Left stranded outside the hotel after staff forgot to leave keys, after confirming directly with the hotel manager that we would be arriving late. We never were able to use our reservation and did not stay after paying in full. I called earlier in the day to confirm, and they gave me the lockbox location and code, but upon arrival by taxi (after midnight) there were no keys in the box, leaving us alone outside with no car. I’ve requested a refund from the hotel but they have not responded - I...

「The hotel needs air conditioning in all bedrooms as the rooms were too hot. There were no fridges in the bedrooms to keep water cold etc which was disappointing as we had to ask for glasses of ice to do this. Staff were exceptional and the spa and swimming pool were really good. A great location on the edge of Dartmoor with access to some great walks.」
