The property looked like a victorian massive elegant house it was lovely had everything there you needed, beds were big and very clean had a good night's sleep, breakfast was plentiful and a good choice continental, cereals juices full English, or various others like egg or beans on toast sausage / bacon sandwich plus tea and coffee. Had a lovely sea view of Exmouth also had a bar couldnt fault anything ,would definitely recommend 5 stars. Staff were very friendly.

Property is dated carpet quite dirty in the bedroom and the sink in the bathroom didn’t have a plug and when you ran the water into it. it leaked onto the floor. On a positive note the staff were very good the bedding and bathroom were very clean and the sea view was amazing and yes I would stay again.

Best thing about the hotel is the view. Dog friendly establishment. Smells of dogs at reception. Room large, great view. Hor shower. Sheets clean. The room hss not been dusted since Covid it looks like. Skirting boards, fans, radiators. Thick with dust. Staircase not cleaned or vacuumed. Helpful staff. Would not stay again.

Had a really good week at the Royal Beacon. The hotel and staff were great. Nothing was too much bother. Lovely location with a short walk to a decent restaurant. Only downside was the parking which most of the time would have been impossible to find. Luckily booked on of the few hotel parking spaces. Only about 8 spaces so l would recommend booking early. It’s a pity that the hotel will be closing in October to be turned into apartments. A sad goodbye because we would definitely gone back again. Not very disabled friendly as the one lift from the car park into the hotel was not working and there are a few steps at the front. But all in all a lovely hotel with brilliant staff.

Staff were excellent. Breakfast was very good and service not too long. The only thing that lets the hotel down is some aspects of the rooms have not been very well maintained. Shower cubicle door hanging off, no cold water but scalding hot water in one of the rooms. Windows not fitting very well and can't be closed or opened. But only used as a base, so overall satisfactory.

The hotel location is excellent for access to town and beach. Not the hotels fault but the parking situation around the beach access areas are not good. Even finding a place is virtually impossible and if you do you are restricted to 3 hrs max.
