「Pool very cloudy. Outside people not staying at hotel using the pool. VERY dirty place. Reviews were misleading. Helen Keller must have written them. I have never heard of the policy of no room cleanings only after 3 nite stay. We stayed 3 nites. Brought out own trash got new towels off housekeeping cart. Just a very dirty place. Roach in bathroom. I think bed bugs just gross. Woman at front desk said :"all hotels near beach have bugs they're only small ones". If youwant to cancel your stay you...

「The beds were miserable, yes both of them. The tv cut off every 30 minutes and ten shut down for good at midnight til 6:00 this morning. I felt I was getting bit all night.lighting was horrible leak in bathroom above mine (1st floor) and it literally beat like a drum. Eggs were powder, microwave cabinet and desk were never wiped down from previous gues…. Phone would NOT call front desk.」

「The Carriage House Inn was a perfect place to stay while in Southport. It was in an excellent location, and the owners thought of everything you could possibly need. I highly recommend staying there!」

「Whe had a great stay at the hotel just a few issues. Walls are paper thin and the noise level at midnite was aggravating. My grandson got stung by a huge wasp in the room 3 times but we worked it out. Location and cleanliness was very refreshing and I calked and they let us check in early which was very nice. I'd stay again and refer people to the hotel.」

「We stayed here 6 years ago. We knew the rooms were cozy. We returned because of the proximity to the beach. Last time, the island had very few lights and the stars were amazing! I felt like you could reach out and touch the Milky Way. Now there are more houses and lights and so, fewer stars were visible than in my backyard. There is now a fee for parking if you want to bring a vehicle with a cooler or whatever to the beach. The beach is still beautiful, room is cute, but had a weird smell, and...

「The whole staff at Hampton was very hospitable. The rooms were clean. The repair gentleman was quick and kind. Breakfast was wonderful. The view was awesome. Of course the pool was enjoyable. We just overall loved our stay thank you. We’ll see you again soon.」

They always got back to you over text within 20 minutes! Overall a great location, and area is extremely walkable which is nice for parking purposes. I plan on coming back next year :)」
