"Our stay at Toyoko Inn Takasaki Station Nishi 2 was average, but there were a few disappointing aspects.
Although we had clearly mentioned at the time of booking that we require a vegan breakfast, the hotel was unable to accommodate this request. It would have been helpful if this had been communicated in advance, as dietary requirements are important for many travelers.
Additionally, the room was not cleaned to the standard we expected. While it was not extremely dirty, it did not feel properly maintained or thoroughly cleaned.
Communication was also a challenge, as there was a lack of English proficiency among the staff. This made it difficult to discuss our concerns and clarify basic requests.
On the positive side, the location near Takasaki Station is convenient. However, improvements in cleanliness, dietary accommodation, and English communication would significantly enhance the guest experience."
"The room was different from the photos shown online. The layout was not the same nor the furniture shown. However it was clean and had all the basic amenities. My room was on the first floor and the people upstairs could be heard very easily walking around at night which was a bit loud. Besides that was okay, staff were friendly. "
"We enjoyed our stay. Great staff and service. Very clean and a good dinner buffet. The hotel is a bit of a hike uphill. Google maps might tell you to approach from the right, go behind the hotel and come around to the entrance. This route has a bunch of uneven steps and is somewhat steep. It’s better to approach from the left side up a paved road with an even incline."
"The staff were very helpful and polite, one member of the reception team made sure I had a parking space after I left and returned. They all accommodated my poor Japanese. The facilities are very good, clean and the TV entertainment was very good with recent cinema releases."
"Overall a good place, but if you're tall like me you may find yourself hitting your head a fair bit
Included breakfast is good and the onsens are a nice addition, but the rooms themselves are a bit barebones and dont come standard with fullsize towels.
If a ryokan is your thing, its great"
