A Rocky Start That Couldn’t Be Fully Recovered
This was our first time staying here, and unfortunately, it will likely be our last. I confirmed our reservation multiple times leading up to arrival. About an hour and a half away, I called again to double-check the address—only to be met with unhelpful and rude behavior from the front gate guard, Newsome, who couldn’t locate our reservation and proceeded to make it seem like my mistake.
Once we finally got to the main building, our Expedia reservation was still nowhere to be found—apparently due to a glitch between the systems. After nearly an hour of waiting, Jamie (manager on duty) stepped in, and thankfully created a new reservation for us with an upgraded room, which we appreciated.
That said, the overall property felt outdated. Several buildings and restaurants smelled musty and lacked the polish you’d expect for the price. While we’re grateful for Jamie’s help, the poor first impression and the overall condition of the resort left a bad taste. We won’t be returning.
