"Great location looking out over the coast. A short walk into North Berwick. We had a delay checking into room but were offered a complimentary drink. The breakfast service also seemed a little chaotic as busy. Given these issues the price of the room felt too high."
"Well appointed accommodation, good quality fittings and comfortable bed , annoying issue with toilet that did not flush , changed room new room had no crockery , TV was not working, changed batteries next day all ok.
Simple housekeeping issues clearly not supervised.
Easy to fix though , breakfast highly priced, found good breakfast nearby at almost 40 % less.
Shop around"
"Gorgeous boutique hotel in the center of town. I loved the bathroom and it's huge claw tub. The breakfast was generous and tasty. My only complaint was the lack of air conditioning. Although the area did not get very hot during our stay (max was 70f), if you run hot at night this may be uncomfortable. We did have a fan in our room.
The staff and locating were excellent.
There's a very nice spa on site that we did not use."
"The hotel is beautiful. The staff is first class. Super helpful and engaging. The location is amazing. Gorgeous location. St Andrew's is a beautiful seaside town. This hotel is fantastic. The concierge Neil was especially outstanding. Helped us in dinner reservations, planning our exit to Edinburgh.,, top top talent"
"The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Check in staff were very helpful. The food was mostly good but there was a bit of an issue with serving the main course and we were left waiting for a long time, with no-one advising what the issue was that was holding up the meal. Unfortunately, the steak was very rare instead of medium but we had waited so long to receive it that my husband did not send it back as it would have meant waiting even longer. Also the amuse bouche that should have been included in the summer set menu did not materialise. Other than that, breakfast was good and served quickly. I found out later there was only one chef which may have explained the delay but it would have been helpful to kept abreast of the situation. However, we enjoyed our stay and the hotel was in an excellent location with parking available, and I would certainly stay there again."
"Lovely restaurant and bar area in this hotel staff all friendly and helpful. Rooms are well kept and adequately furnished. Great for a wee weekend or nightly break."
"The only reason I gave it a 4 star is because even though I had a regular room booked, they asked me to stay in the outside cottage first and then asked me to upgrade if I wanted to stay in the main hotel building, that was unnecessary and I felt fleeced. Maze sure you’re asking for the main room or you’ll be charged more"
