Fra i Sassi - Residence

"Staying at Fra i Sassi Residence was definitely a highlight of our trip. The hotel is located in the Sassi with a fantastic view of the old city! We stayed in the Cave Apartment which was very nice! The air conditioning worked well in conjunction with the dehumidifier (all the caves can get a little damp). We were surprised to see the room included a kitchenette which was not mentioned in the description, but turned out to be extremely convenient! Check-in was very smooth and the staff were very friendly. It was a bit of a trek to get from the reception to our room and staff gladly brought our bags to our room for us. Whew! The hotel is located within walking distance of the center of town and has quite a few good restaurants nearby. Wear good shoes and be prepared to walk uphill and downhill! The included breakfast was very nice and provided a great start to our day! We enjoyed just sitting outside our room in the evening with a glass of wine, watching the gentle glow of the lights in the Sassi. Great stay!"

"Hôtel très bien situé dans matera, mais le grand plus de ce lieu est très certainement l’équipe👌! Karenn, Angelina, Guizzepe 😘, Anne vous êtes des Amours. Merci 🙏 pour ce moment où on se sent chez soit et en même temps en vacances . Ce lieu est remplie d’émotions et bonnes ondes . Malgré le succès de Matera on se sent protégé et au calme. On y reviendra , c’est sure 😉🤗😘👌."

"The location of Brasiliani is incomparable, in the heart of the Sassi, but on the very edge of the ravine and the uninhabited Sassi area. It is stunning, quiet and walkable. The staff are lovely, and shuttle you from the car parking area. The breakfast is soooo good. Honestly, it was amazing."

"We rented out 3 rooms , all the room are different and very unique - clean - WiFi working well . There is some stairs from the hotel lobby to the room but the staff are amazing they will take care all your luggages with no problem. We ate at the hotel restaurant upstairs for one night . The view is beautiful but the food isn’t that good, service is a big disappointment , I almost rate them lower because of the restaurant service but I feel bad for all the people who’ve working at the front desk they worked super hard to please the customers. Overall, I love the hotel - the town . 2 days is enough for you to explore this town ."
