Keep an eye on the weather in fall. This pass can be snow covered and icy when you do not expect it. And the drop-offs without guard rails are plentiful. Colorado Highway department has a webcam near the summit.

The Grottos Trail is a 1.2 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Aspen, Colorado that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from June until September. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
