"Hotel Plaza Etoile is a great location and a hidden gem. It is so close to Arc de Triomphe that you catch glimpses of it through the trees, and just a quick walk to the metro. Great shops and restaurants are all around. The staff was extremely helpful, and the breakfast was delicious (although the little breakfast room does get stuffy in summer). We had the family suite. It had ample space for a family of four and lots of storage-- hard to find in old Parisian hotels.
The not-so-good: the hotel does have AC, but it doesn't work well. It will take the edge off, but not get you anywhere near the American-level of AC you may be expecting if you are coming from the states. Also, because it is so close to Champs-Élysées, the street it is on is loud. There is a 24/7 cafe, Le General, right across the street, which can be loud (although they also have good drinks and friendly staff). The carpet in the rooms is also getting a little shabby. The tub is also extremely high and extremely slick. If you have mobility issues, I would be concerned about slipping and falling.
All and all, I'd consider staying here again. It's a great hub for a Paris vacation."
