Le Grand Galle

"It’s a beautiful property in a wonderful location on the sea. The staff are absolutely beautiful and so helpful, nothing is a problem for them. The food is delicious and well presented and good value. However the hotel is undergoing a renovation so it might have been useful to know at time of booking. Also at time of check in nobody said anything. The jackhammering of concrete and belt sanding of wood close to the pool ruined the ambience but on speaking with the staff it was immediately stopped !"

"The property is in an ideal location within the fort area. The property is clean and well maintained. The breakfasts are Sri Lankan cuisine and excellent. The staff are unbelievably helpful and friendly."

"We had a lovely weekend here - the staff were so friendly and accommodating when I had to log into a work meeting before the room was available. The whole place is spotless, the breakfast was fresh and plenty of it and the location is perfect. We’ll stay here whenever we go to Galle."

"Staff were lovely, the breakfast was exceptional and location perfect. The beds were comfortable. We had a family room so no window to the outside apart from a small window looking over the foyer and the climb to the second bed very steep. Unfortunately there was no hot water and the information provided was that it would not be repaired for several days and applied to the whole property. Staff seemed unconcerned when we complained and a partial refund (about 1/5 of room cost) was provided. Fortunately we had only booked 2 nights but other than hot water it was lovely."

"What a lovely boutique hotel in the middle Of Galle forte, walking distance to everything, the manager and the staff were outstanding, always willing to help and go the extra mile….our rooms was very clean, cool and comfortable…would recommend Le Jardin"

"Brilliant location, this immaculately clean restored home makes a lovely hotel. The rooms are tiny tiny but comfortable. Bathroom a generous size and good shower. Breakfast can be ordered in, they weren't providing their won when I was there. The man who was looking after the place was very helpful. You get a key to your room only, the front doors are open all day and I was always in early at night. Had to ring bell once during the day when he was out but all OK getting in otherwise. Only strange thing, no rubbish bin in the room."

"The room was very nice however it was incredibly dark and needed either extra lighting or some focused lighting to read documents. I feel that they were trying to get a " Vibe ", however with all the problems of the world at the moment with war in the middle east we really missed a TV to keep up with the news."
