"The view from your room towards the ocean was amazing and the room is very big. Otherwise, the onsen is not big and the location is walkable but a very steep climb up a flight of stairs. At the hotel there isnt much to do unless you want to pay and felt abit more expensive just to use the space. Also located where if u wanted to eat out you had to walk down the steep stairs and on the way back you would need to walk back up the steep stairs. "Overall, the stay was disappointing. On the positive side, the onsen was lovely and the attendant on the ladies side was very helpful. That said, nothing is available until 3 and you have to rush to make an on-site reservation for the open air area after 3 (there was not an option to reserve prior to 3). The front desk staff provided inconsistent information on check in and was initially unhelpful in storing luggage that did not fit in the automated storage machine. Bottom line, do not arrive prior to the stated check-in time. Additionally, the room was on par with a low cost motel. The beds were very hard and the pillows flat ( only 1 per bed provided). The shower was a pre-fab very small stall that looked like a mobile home shower. The balcony, though advertised as ocean view, overlooked a bus parking lot and busy street with a view of the water behind the noisy areas. The balcony and tub on the balcony were likewise very small. The room and facilities were simply not worth the price point. If you are looking for a higher end stay in Atami, look elsewhere."

"Breakfast dishes in the trays were not hot, almost cold. Good selection of foods but worrisome that not up to temperature Rooms although nice, a bit noisy . You can hear neighbors foot’s steps and someone using a digital keyboard constantly… very annoying. Also the onsen (hot tub) was not hot. Had to ask the staff to turn up the temperature… The Wagyu restaurant was very disappointing , since did not have a reservation, they seated us in a corner ( thought we were in time out) facing a wall … even though they were regular tables available…"

"Room clean and staff were very helpful but the stairs to my room on the top floor was hard and the public bath was too small. I picked this place for the shuttle and the public bath /onsen but was disappointed, return shuttle did not run at 8:30 am so had to ask for a taxi back to the station to meet a friend coming from Tokyo to play golf. "

"Got there one hour early sitting in the lobby without good lighting and fresh air. That’s ok. The entrance of the room is not clean with 8-9 dark spots on the floor. Needs to be cleaned before next customer. Customer must know the room has no shower, has to go to public pool for bathing, that’s Ok for me. I didn’t have problem. The inn is very close to station walking 8-9 min if you are very healthy otherwise the stairs climbing could be challenging. Only one face towel and shower towel in the room. General speaking it needs lot of improvements. "

"This hotel was fine for the price, and would probably be willing to stay here again, but this is not what I would call a "nice hotel." The whole house is quirky, feels a little unfinished, and the walls are thin so you can hear people moving around in the house at all hours. Our beds were comfortable, and it was nice that the room had a mini fridge, microwave, and sink. There is also a shared kitchen. Upon arrival, we were charged an extra 200 yen per person per day for the hotel tax, and an extra 300 yen per person per day for access to the onsen. We were fine paying this, but it was a little bit of a surprise, especially because there was no alternative way to bathe/shower. The onsen was the highlight of this hotel for us. It is a private bath that comfortably fit two of us, which was romantic and relaxing. "

"I would come back. Room was great, but surprised there was no bathtub in the room, since it is in the photos. I would have paid more for that had I known. View is incredible, and worth it for that alone. The onsen is fine, but not overly exceptional. The staff is excellent with heartfelt delivery. It’s a cab ride up the hill, and nothing is close, but again, the view is worth it and very romantic. Food is mostly buffet, and just okay, but serviceable. Go for the romantic stay and exceptional staff."
