"The staff were very friendly and helpful, my son loved the pool and we enjoyed the hot tub. Waffles, sausage, eggs and others for breakfast, we couldn't have had a better stay!"

"We always stay at the Gateway Hotel when visiting Ames. The location is right off highway 30 and close to ISU. We appreciate that they’re dog friendly and only charge $50 per stay, up to one week. This last stay we were disappointed that the coffee offered in the lobby was empty both mornings and it seemed the lady at the desk could not be bothered to make more. The breakfast buffet is NOT included with your stay and ,in my opinion, is not worth the cost. Go across the road to The Filling Station and you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the amazing breakfast choices"

"Every staff member that we encountered went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. The water bottles on check in and rice Krispies for the kids on check out definitely made for huge smiles. My only complaints would be that breakfast was cold and dry on our first morning and the pool was cold."
