Hersha Hospitality Gulf of Mexico hotels

"This was a very pricy hotel on hotels.com. There was a $40/day parking fee and a $35/day amenity fee we were charged in addition at the hotel. The hotel needs renovations. A side of the building is cracked, I'm guessing from hurricane damage. The lamp and other permanent items inside the room are worn and look dirty. The linens were pristine, which is important to me. The lock on the sliding door to the balcony was broken. My son found a cockroach in the bathroom, which I understand may sneak in from time to time, but still very gross. The elevator was quick and quiet, but not all the buttons lit up when pressing them. Location was fantastic, step on to the beach. Right next to the pier with children activities. (We didn't get to enjoy because of the weather, but that's not the hotel's fault). Walk to local food and shops. Probably would not stay again, only because of the pricing. "

"The worst experience I have ever had in any resort. The staff needs some lessons in manners! I wasn’t even asked how my day was when I was checking out! The room was the worst experience bathroom handle falling off every time I open the door. Noisy elevator sounds old, worn out furniture, just a few of the things that I had to endure. I tried to change rooms and was told I could not have similar room yet the room next to me was the exact same layout and only once during my stay, I saw it’s occupied! Beware this resort"

"The location of hotel is in a perfect location and walking distance to most sites, food, & bars. Rooms were beautiful with an awesome balcony. I highly recommend this hotel. BTW, it haunted too 😜"

"Nice hotel near airport. Clean, friendly. Enjoyed the heated pool & hot tub very much. Breakfast also very good. "

"The place had some nice touches such as champagne toast upon arrival and the tastings on some of the nights at the neighboring property. The pools were nice and the food and drink were very good. I was disappointed in the room itself. I felt it was not up to the standards for the price charged. It seemed run down and dingy with stains on the walls and cabinets. The shower head was partially clogged, resulting in very slow water flow. The bed was too small (my mistake for thinking a double would be the same as queen). The balcony was not really a usable balcony but a stepout. It was very narrow, fitting a chair however not room for your legs unless you turned the chair sideways. Overall it was a nice stay, but the room was not what was expected. Went exploring other properties that were in the same price range and they looked more upscale than this one. Would try someplace else next time."

"Great location and beautiful hotel the only thing is that the bartenders as well as the restaurant servers are “in no hurry” it takes some time to get served. If you don’t get your chair around the pool by 9am you can’t get one, ppl put their towels on them and walk away for breakfast. Also the hotel rooms do not keep at the temperature you set them. Other than that we will definitely go back next year and highly recommend "
