"When I asked about the $35 food and beverage voucher the check in guy said we were only eligible for $10, and I said “thats incorrect” ge said let me double check and says its $15, I showed him my reservation and he said okay then Ill give you $35…… The room was big and airey, I paid extra for a corner unit. The area around the hotel is nice in the day but at night … its not so nice, homeless, drunk people. "

"Room was quite clean, staff were pleasant. However the property is a bit old and there were things that needed repair. The cover on the fire extinguisher outside my room fell off the wall outside every time my heavy door closed. The windows were SUPER old and apparently it’s a thing in SD that young people stand outside literally all night screaming at each other, and I was on the 4th floor and could still hear them all night long. I’m not kidding, I caught my uber at 4am on Sunday morning to the airport and people were hanging outside the building yelling so loud the uber driver asked me about it when I got in. Someone’s car alarm went off outside every night and it was like it was in the room with me. I was on the 4th floor and it was LOUD. My friend stayed in the room next door and had the same complaints. The AC units are windows style, so there is basically no insulation from noise. The bed was very firm and while it didn’t bother me much, it was a bit uncomfortable. The free breakfast was awful and I never expect much when it’s free but it was pretty bad. The waffles were good but eggs and breakfast meat were inedible. SD hotels are expensive, and were it not for the noise and crummy windows, this hotel isn’t bad for the price comparatively. It’s no frills and exactly what you would expect from a Comfort Inn. The location is great if you are here for a conference or just visiting the area. There are tons of restaurants in Gaslamp. Overall, it was just okay. "
