「The view from the room was spectacular. Sam and Annie were lovely hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Infact we were talking to her about lemon cola that was available years ago and as we were leaving she presented us with a can she had seen in the supermarket. Breakfast was great and plentiful. Lots of little extra touches such as an honesty bar with alcoholic and soft drinks and snacks available 24 hours. Would definitely return if visiting this area again. 「Located in a lovely setting but starting to look a bit tired throughout. We booked an upgraded room so two nights cost £355.00 Bed and breakfast which I don’t feel was good value. We have stayed in a much nicer hotel with that amount of budget. The room was OK but things like a shower over the bath with a rather tired curtain were not what we had expected. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately I felt the experience didn’t live up to our expectations...

「What a fabulous hotel. The couple who run it and own it Rebecca and Steve are the perfect hosts (apart from Steve’s Dad jokes). The food is always freshly cooked to order. Hot when it arrives and very tasty. The whole experience is amazing. From the beauty of the decor to the amazing layout, bar, dining and lounge area. Rebecca and Steve work extremely hard to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. We will be going back in the near future. Don’t miss out by looking elsewhere. 」

「Stopped here overnight whilst walking the South West Coast Path. Very clean and comfortable room with everything I needed after 16 miles of walking and ahead of 20 miles the next day! Lovely period hotel, fabulous sash windows, high ceiling, warm and cosy room, really nice feel to the place. The owner was very welcoming and friendly. Extensive breakfast menu, all cooked to order. I had a delicious vegetarian breakfast. Would highly recommend. 」

「Quite Excellent. from book in by Karen at reception who upgraded us - to the gym and pool staff (notably Caelan), to the restaurant staff, Joe, Cara and Eloise who provided an excellent service from the dining room - carvery and take away meals. 「Absolutely gob-smacked when we arrived at the Barnstaple Hotel, it was fantastic and totally unexpected. Staff were lovely, ambience great and it was just so welcoming. It was a fairly last minute booking, a one night stay and I hadn't really taken much notice of reviews etc. Great regret that I hadn't packed my swim-wear as the pools looked so enticing. 「I was a little perturbed that there was no onsite parking but the hotel gave me a complimentary carpark ticket for the duration of our stay which was valid for all council carparks in the area and this worked out well. 」
