"My only regret is that I didnt book a longer stay! We were warmly welcomed. Room was spacious and tidy. Everything worked. Common area had complimentary tea and wine. Lovely patio also. Close to sights on a historica lane. Already want to go back to Ferrara. "
"Our stay here was awesome. Great location only 10 minutes walking to the castle and the train station. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and the room was exactly as described and very clean. It was an amazing stay!!"
"La struttura è ad un passo dalla stazione, dunque ideale per chi si sposta in treno. Camera ampia, nuova, pulita, arredata con gusto, dotata di tutti i comfort...perfetta! Anche la comunicazione con la signora Davina eccellente, istruzioni per il self check in chiare ed inviate in anticipo, cosa sempre apprezzabile! Consiglio!!"

Besides the five stars I gave for cleanliness, friendly staff, and free parking, the continental breakfast was substantial and of excellent quality. The reservation we had made at a different hotel had fallen apart and we found this one on Expedia. We arrived around 10:40 pm well after the other guests had. The innkeeper had waited up for us and was very kind and welcoming. Breakfast the next morning was excellent with many choices, hot and cold alike. It gave us a great start to the day. The...

This is such a lovely spot. The location is convenient to food and attractions and the manager is incredibly nice and helpful. Comfortable bed, hot shower, nice garden though it stormed when I was there so I didn’t really use it. Would definitely visit Ferrara and stay at this locanda again.

If you remember “the good old days” of the small family-run Italian small hotel, this will make you go right back to those lost days! Riccardo and his family are so wonderful. When I told him I was interested in the history of the region, he quickly told me 5 or 6 amazing tales from the distant past, as well as from his own lived experience. This is why we travel: to meet people like this! Did I mention this hotel is LOVELY with a fine attention to detail in all things? I wish I could’ve stayed...

This hotel stands out from all the others I've stayed at. Its six rooms beautifully merge medieval character with modern style. If you visit Northern Italy, I strongly recommend it. The owner provides a personal welcome, and the property boasts lovely fruit trees and vines. The individually tailored breakfast is outstanding. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!

Literally one of the best places I've stayed in a lifetime of world travel! The people who run this have figured out hosting. The room is immaculate, and it is in a perfect location, but it was the extras that surprised me most. I won't spoil your surprise by much, but they had an empty decorative vase in the room - I always buy myself flowers when I'm somewhere longer than a few days; there were scissors (!!!!) and an iron and ironing board - SO uncommon in Europe, as you likely know. I had...

Found Principessa Pio on an Internet search of places in Ferrara. The photos looked great, but they frequently do, while the places often fail to live up to them. Not so in this case.
