Eager staff to make memorable trip but not all activities or restaurants available & likely due to economy. Clean, nice room. Have to remember this is a beach resort. Food was excellent, roast duck, seafood with lemongrass, presentation was 4 star.
Great and comfortable hotelier. Great Amstedam are
Wow. Great hotel I great area. Lovely room. Walking distance to many, many places. Sweet service in hotel bar and good breakfast there.
Sooo glad we stayed there. Wish we'd had 14 days, not a mere 4.

Pristine location in Negril!!!!
The actual hotel rooms are quite outdated and not well kept, however the location of this hotel is absolutely pristine and out of this world in my opinion. I travel frequently and do appreciate an incredible location. The beach and caves located on this property, as well as the landscaping make this a must-go destination. My husband and I spent each day snorkeling. The hotel takes you snorkeling up to 3 times per day, and you can even snorkel right off the property and it is all amazing. They also offer unlimited scuba dives. We took out the hobie cat sail boat and did most of the included water sports, which made this vacation spectacular for us. There is fantastic food at the hotel, however you have to scout it out. The buffet and Italian restaurant offers the lowest grade cuisine. The Reggae cafe (near the buffet) has excellent lamb chops (rack of lamb) and jerk pork... and fried plantains. The tiny grill at the nude beach has to die for lamb chops! The french restaurant has fantastic duck and good beef filet minon. The Grand cafe has incredible fresh fish dishes which were our favorites (chef specials were the best). We are gourmet food lovers and have VERY high standards. We never experienced good food at the buffet which we tried several times. Most of the staff at this hotel seem very sad and resentful of the guests, however there are a few staff members who are warm and very kind such as Chavelle (nude grill), Franz (concierce), Sanjay (water sports).

Don't Stay Here
Only one working elevator, water temperature in the shower changed constantly from too cold to too hot and back again.
Grounds not well kept, needs paint inside and out
Staff was very nice.
It was obvious Breezes put very little into the upkeep of the property
Excellent - just got back and had a wonderful time, great staff and lots to do. Very relaxing.
Does need some upgrades but overall was a great 7 day stay

Good stay
Well, unless someone has reservations to stay at Breezes Trelawny before May 31st, this information will not be useful, since the resort is closing. The resort is about a 30 minute drive from the airport (transportation provided by Breezes). Our room was ready at noon, when we arrived, which was a nice surprise. I would suggest NOT accepting the lock and key for your in-room safe that is offered upon check-in. Two gals we spoke to had money stolen from theirs, and they knew of several other couples who had the same experience. The property and room are in need of some TLC, but nothing was so bad that we couldn't enjoy our stay. Our room was clean, with a king and twin bed, balcony, frig, hair dryer, coffeemaker, etc. There are several pools and a nice beach with beautiful, warm water. Vendors will approach you if you are on the beach, but they accept "no thank you". There were plenty of lawn chairs, some covered. The buffet was slightly limited in selection, and leaned toward Jamaican food, with jerk chicken, grilled fish, stews, etc. The Japanese restaurant, for which you need a reservation, was very good (Benihana style). The grill by the pools had good burgers, hot dogs, fries, pizza, etc. There was plenty to drink at the various bars. Overall, unless someone is quite picky, they should do fine here (if they were expecting a deluxe resort, they probably wouldn't have booked here to begin with)
Due to the fact that this hotel is closing the staff was rude and unaccomodating. The hotel is falling apart. It should have been disclosed that the hotel was going to be closing as i would have expected this and perhaps stayed elsewhere. I find it extremely disappointing that a reputable name such as breezes would be willing to keep there name on such a place.
This resort needs repairs all around. Terrible experience.... I've been to Super Clubs before... this is FAR from super. And as a couple, we've been to resorts with kids too and this is not just a family resort, but a ZOO.... complete chaos and unorganized mess. Loud, uncomfortable, dirty and not a place to vacation in my mind.

Good vacation
You get what you pay for. The cheapest all inclusive we could find. Nothing negative to say just not the best place in the world which you can't expect when you aren't paying an arm and a leg for vacation. My husband and I had a wonderful trip and enjoyed our time at this location.

Breezes Resort & Spa Trelawny All Inclusive
Great place for kids. Lots of things to do. Food was good and rooms were clean. The Resort needs some maintenance. The elevators are tempermental and slow. A bit noisy.
Would return at some future date.
Staff were great and very pleasant and accomodating.
The visit was good
Elevators didn't work about 1/2 the time. Hot tubs mentioned are luke warm, unjetted cloudy water, I wouldn't get in for anything. Staff in general were uninterested in helping anyone, especially the dining and bartending staff. Swim up bar only open the morning we were leaving. Food in the buffet was not very good, and there needs to be more snack foods available between meal times. Woman staffing the customer relations desk was most unhelpful and unfriendly! Check in staff was very helpful, as our room wasn't ready when we checked in, they found out we were getting married that week and upgraded us to a ocean view room, that was ready for check in.
My biggest complaint is the lack of communication and guidance. It was hard to determine what the activities were for the day. And you had to get up very early to make reservations for anything and 2 day notice for dinner reservations. Tuesdays beach party was the best of the entertainment, and should not be missed. Saturday the advertise Reggae night but have no real party on resort because of one down at the public beach (we did not feel comfortable going there at night). The market down the beach is good for getting your hair braided but can be very intense with their selling tactics, must go strong willed. Room was clean but hey have discontinued all mini bars, but give you a fridge with nothing in it. Hot tubs did not work till the last day and did not seem to be chemically treated. The pools were nice and well maintained. The male staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. The women not so much. Many mechanical issues with our bath room and air conditioner. Knowing we were not at a 5 star resort I could over look most of that, they did respond to the complaints. Our bigger problem was that their top shelf liquors were not and they frequently ran out of items, even RUM and DIET SODA !!! The beach is very nice, the cottages are a great upgrade to ease access to the whole resort and avoid the commonly out of order elevator or two. I do not think they treat the staff well and hear it may be sold again. All in all we had a good trip but will likely not return.
Hotel is dated and needs to be upgraded. Ammenities advertised were not always provided. Some employees were friendly and helpful; others had an attitude. The food was the worst part - same thing day after day and it had no flavor, or was over/under cooked.

Fun place for families and couples on a budget
The staff was very nice and helpful overall. The rooms were not the nicest but we spent very little time in the room itself. Great place for families, couples might feel like there are a lot of children around, especially during spring breaks, etc. I loved the made-to-order omelette maker during breakfast and both restaurants. The buffets were good, but not excellent.

great value for the money
The building and maintenance is not really impressive. But looking past that, the food, the people (staff) were great. Our overall stay was very enjoyable. It is not a huge resort, so you get to know people better. It is not like a 5 star where they cater to your every need like bringing drinks to the beach etc etc. but you get great value for what you pay for.
We really enjoyed everything immensely. Good quality of food and beverage in our all inclusive. The staff for the most part were knowledgeable and friendly. The only peculiar part was the elevators which seemed to have a mind of their own. The beach and facilities in general were very good, but do not count on their "casino" as a significant part of the entertainment. The few machines they have require true cash in and receive tokens out that must be cashed in only when there is an attendant available.

Oldie but goodie!
The hotel is showing some aging but is still ok it was clean. Many activities to do, loud music at night. The staff were friendly. They need more chairs around the pool, you need to get one early in the morning or forget it. Lots of food. I would return again.

Economical for a reason
The physical condition of the hotel was marginal. showing many signs of deferred maintenance. The location is nice, but the main restaurant area and cocktail bars are far removed from the Beach and Ocean. Frankly, the main buffet restaurant served adequate food, but the actual buffet tables had no lighting to illuminate what was actually being served...wierd. Overall, the ocean and beach were very nice, the pools were marginal and the resort needs a facelift. The bar was stocked with off brand liquor...would someone please explain the difference between "scotch" and "whiskey" to the hotel management.
This hotel was great for families! We had a cottage room with a king bed and a bunk bed. It was great and the location was great. Staff were very friendly and nice. The beds were not that comfy but overall it was clean and a nice place.
This was a nice resort for the money. The resort was well taken care of, and the staff was very helpful. We would definately stay at a Breezes resort again.

Trelawny Dec 2011
Just returned from our 6th visit to this resort already planning next trip.
It's obvious changes are being made to both facilities and staff- for the better.
Security has been increased, however I've never felt unsafe at this resort. We were in a group of 18 ranging in age from 20-78. Everyone found plenty to do with no complaints. The staff and locals were espically acomodating to my generic mother and step father making sure they could actively participate in sailboating, snorkling and off site tours.
If you are looking for a 5 star this won't be for you. If you can be a little flexible and realize your spending half as much as other Jamacian all inclusives you'll have a great time.
Room smallish, clean, nice little balcony w/great view. Food v.good, varied, w mix of local Jamaican & american- fresh veggies, fruits, meats, and plenty of fries & desserts. Jerk Chix at the pool is awesome. Good service. Make reserv at Casablanca or Japanese restaurants right away. All you can drink, all day, really. Entertainment staff is great; join in the fun &make new friends. Great activities for kids & adults. In a less developed area of Jamaica, so neighborhood w/typical local housing, goats munching in front yards, little vendor shacks down the beach. I did not feel like I was in a tourist trap, &you get close to Jamaican culture while enjoying a family friendly resort w/lots of security. Karaoke in both english & Patwa was fun! Great music, bands, dancers - different every evening. Only complaint was rather loud music from disco every night, but we slept w/doors open for ocean breeze effect. Saw several weddings in gazebo on beach. Yoga & Pilates classes were great. All of this is included, as well as transport to and from airport. You can travel around but Cab drivers at the lobby are way overpriced. Go down to the street & negotiate a lower price. The beach is nice, not huge, w/nice sand & gradual sloped swim area. Little kids have room to make castles, & you can enjoy music from the pool area or sit further away for quiet. Hallway carpet worn in spots, but it's outside & not important. Ya mon, this is a good place to slow down & relax.
This is the second time we have vacationed at the Starfish Trelawney and I wad very disappointed. We were there 6 years ago when it was the Starfish and it was a great vacation. The hotel has since went down. It needs a lot of repair and upgrade. Some of the workers were great and some were very rude and didn't seem to care about how they treated their guests. I will not be going back to this hotel. We love Jamaica and will be going back but not to the Breezes Starfish Trelawney.
