While I was checking to see if there were bed bugs I found that there was 9 condoms in package between the mattress and the box spring. I found no bed bugs. They have lights in the parking lot that light the room up like it is day light. The blinds had broken slats and did not darken the room at all. No continental breakfast.

The word "remodeled" was used on a sign in the lobby and if that is true, all I can say is that they have a long way to go. The heating/air conditioning systems are so outdated that it took overnight for my room to be comfortable. They had the thermostat set at below 50, to save energy I'm sure, but as I said it took overnight before the temperature rose enough for me to be comfortable. The internet was awful - I needed to upload 16 photos for a work project (I was there on business) and after 3 hours and not one of them had uploaded, I gave up and used my own mobile hotspot. Front desk employee was not friendly either, and passed on the credit card surcharge without notifying me. On top of it all, I paid $87 for this room and I see it's normally $66. Not cool. Will not be staying here again.

Clean room. Nicely updated bathroom. Wasn’t happy about 10:00 am checkout time. TV was pretty small, and couldn’t get the guide. WiFi was good.

Nice overnight stay in Escanaba

No hot tub in the room, or big screen tv, but if you are looking for a clean room and comfortable bed, and a quiet night are a reasonable price...this is the place.

Nice little hotel

We appreciate this hotel offering rooms for people who are allergic to pets. It’s is acute quaint hotel, currently being updated by a very nice couple. We enjoyed our stay , the only drawback was other guests who decided to have a 4:30 a.m.chat loudly outside our door. No one can control that except the people who own the mouths! We enjoyed Escanaba and our time there.

If you're looking for a luxury hotel, this isn't for you. It's an older motel, but the owner is working hard to update it and is making great progress. It is affordable, clean, conveniently located, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It will just keep getting better over time. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed; and your pocketbook will thank you!

Nicely renovated, very clean motel with very comfortable beds. The main drawback is location on the main road so you do hear traffic all night but the great beds sort of makes up for the traffic noise. Location is great with a lot of eateries around the motel. Owners very pleasant and very helpful with vacation info for our trip planning.

The location was a plus. The girl who worked the front desk was helpful with directions to local attractions and where to eat. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean. However, there wasn't hot water to take a shower first thing in the morning due to the new water heater shutting off. When we went to check out there were a few people eating the continental breakfast which the same girl who checked us in was in a lengthy conversation with. We were on a tight time schedule and waited a few minutes but ended up leaving the keys on the counter and walking out without being acknowledged.

Quaint and comfortable

We were on a family vacation. The room was clean and very comfortable! We would definitely stay again when in the UP. We forgot a pillow in the room and they quickly contacted us and offered to send it to us which we really appreciated.
