「Excellent stay with very clean room, tropical garden and most of all extremely nice hosts. Carlos was always available to answer questions or give suggestion, and booked us a day trip with no additional charges. It’s an hour away from La Fortuna but great place if looking to relax and enjoy panoramic views. Road to La Fortuna is very windy and lush but well paved. Try to avoid driving in dark though. Overall a great stay here.. 」

「The property itself was fantastic and the bungalow we stayed in was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the food at the restaurant. The staff were very accommodating and welcoming. We're going to miss the soothing sounds of the jungle at night, especially the beautiful native birds that perched in the garden every morning. We would definitely stay here again. 」

「I can't say enough for what a great time we had at Kakao Lodge. I was skeptical at first since I usually like staying in my chain hotels that provide all the normal American comforts. But after staying here, my mind has totally changed. You can't describe how awesome it is to be able to see a half dozen different species of exotic frogs at night, or a sloth while eating breakfast, or tropic birds singing to you in the morning. And don't forget about breakfast. Everyday, we had homemade to order...

「We had a great time at the property. It is a family owned property, very well maintained and managed. The whole family very amicable and friendly. Uncle gave us a free night tour in his garden which was really sweet and informative. Loved the breakfast aunty prepared. Only drawback is the road to property is broken however nothing can match to the great hospitality!
