"Easily found hotel on the main road, therefore there is some traffic noise if you have a room at the front. Room was good, with a comfortable bed, and very clean. The lady and gentleman who checked us in/out were very friendly. The walk into town from the hotel is doable and fairly level, where you can then take the funicular up to the old town (just beware it closes early - 7.30pm when we visited in October). "

On our tour of the underground caves in Orvieto. A very cute and quiet hilltop town in the Umbria region - about an hour's train ride from Rome. Great day trip and the train ride was roughly $8 for a RT ticket from Rome :)
