「Excellent location near shops, eating places and attractions. The Atrium was unique and it was wonderful having a balcony overlooking the courtyard. Superb breakfast and would Bonzai, the restaurant attached to the botel.」

「It's a very clean hotel, the ownership is very friendly and helpful. It is not a modern cookie cutter hotel or building. It is the Victorian era. It is not fancy in modern terms. The stairs are steep and narrow, they way they were done at the time it was built. I would like more lighting on them. Breakfasts were good and satisfying. I had plenty of hot water. 」

「Great location. Right on the promenade and close to the electric tram station. Walk to the other end of the promenade bracing but level. Loved the island. You can see lots by public transport. Get a GO card. Such good value. Beds soft and been well slept in. Breakfast bit disappointing- very traditional. We had a bar meal the night we arrived. Again disappointed. Steak sandwich on plain white bread - ??? We found lots of other fantastic places to eat. 」

「The room is clean and tidy. The breakfast is good with different options. The hotel is a little bit far from the ferry pier, it takes about 25 mins to walk there. If you have luggage, you'd better call a taxi, the taxi fare is reasonable anyway. 」

「Great location. Great staff. Very good breakfast. Room size is typical of hotels of its era - small but comfortable. There is no lift but staff will readily help to carry luggage up the stairs to your room.」

「We stayed four nights and really enjoyed it, the staff were kind and attentive, and went out of their way to help imperious ways. I wouldn’t say the breakfasts were as magnificent as some people have implied, it’s a pretty limited menu and if you go off the menu, things aren’t always great, but the coffee machine was fabulous.」

「Warm welcome, enjoyed delicious breakfast and nice chat with owners each morning. Facilities in good condition and well maintained. Decorated intentionally making guests a home stay feel. Near bus stop and promenade, also walkable distance to main streets and dock. To nitpick, there’s creaky sound walking on the wooden floor.」

「Lovely one night stay at a reasonable price. Hotel well located. Room was newly refurbished (although quite cheaply), and thought had gone into details, e.g. good lighting and sufficient plug sockets with USB. Beds were comfortable enough although quite creaky. Bathroom was quite spacious although the wall between the bathroom and bedroom didn't go all the way to the ceiling, which was a bit odd. Didn't try breakfast.」
