"Cute room in a converted turn-of-the-century home. The owner is sweet and staff are on hand to make breakfast for you between 6:30 and 9:00 am (you just need to tell them when you will be awake). We were able to arrange for transport to and from the hotel. Nice decorative touches throughout the home and a lovely garden. Small downsides: 1. "This place is amazing for a quiet and restful stay, also if you want to have a romantic time. Food at the restaurant is really good, although little expensive, otherwise I would do this as my weekend place to lunch or dinner. For sure a recommended place to stay if you want to be close to the city key touristic points, or if you will go up to Pichincha summit "

"We really enjoyed our stay at Oro. Great facilities, excellent breakfast choice and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Guayaquil is generally unsafe and the area around the hotel is a typical example as to why but the hotel try to ensure that this doesn’t impact on your stay and do this well. I did experience a problem with payment miscommunication during my stay and I feel the staff could have done a little more to assist but that’s a lesson learnt for me. A slight detraction from an otherwise great stay."
