"On the whole it was ok , wasn’t overly impressed with the room it was basic and for over £200 for 1 night I’ve had better in the city before so won’t be back. The room was at the end of an extremely long hall giving The shining vibes ha ha. No plugs or usb ports beside the bed an the room also had connecting doors on both sides which I feel we should have been made aware of at check in not a big deal for some but I personally don’t like it prefer only one door to access the room. The bathroom was very dated and in need of modernisation shower over the bath with a shower curtain fixed shower head which isn’t the best especially when it was so low I had to duck under it an the rubber bath mat kept slipping. All that is manageable but we only got one hand towel and bath towel between 2 we never noticed until half hour before checkout as we got up late. The reception staff were very chatty on check in but failed to mention there was a run going on the next day and we couldn’t leave until 3pm due to road closures we parked in their car park. Raised my concerns when checking out to a very uninterested an unhelpful receptionist. So definitely won’t be back here to stay!!!"

"Great breakfast selection from cooked English, eggs cooked fresh to order. Along with a really well freshly stocked continental breakfast choices. Great location for travelling into the centre of town or out of town. Rooms really comfy and free complementary drinks in the mini fridge. "

"Good location. Quite expensive for such a Small room. very hot. No a/c and windows couldn’t be opened. The hairdryer was coated in a sticky substance. I won’t be returning"

"Get a room on the top floor! I arrived around 4pm dropped bags and headed out to meet my son. I got back around 9pm.to get an early night as was shattered. No such luck, there was banging and furniture moving from the floor above until way after 11pm. I thought it was noisy guests but discovered on Saturday it was the hotel refurbishing a room! Not ideal..and no chance of sleeping. Go to Saturday. I come back in the afternoon again to get some rest before heading out and lucky me more noise for a few hours, this time I see a cleaner who tells me 3 people are putting beds together. It's really poor that if no sound proofing you wait until the hotel is not full to carry out work. The owner did see me this morning and apologised but was insistent the work finished at 7pm on Friday!! I wasn't even in the building at 7pm. Very poor experience. Rooms are basic but clean. On check in you have to ring a bell, but no indication of this when you arrive or book so check in a little confusing. You can walk to central Newcastle from here but plenty of Uber available "
