"We loved our stay at the Bear. If you’re a Pooh Bear admirer, it’s an absolute must! Cute and cozy rooms with Hundreds-Acre Wood wallpaper and tastefully themed decor. A five minute (if even) walk to Pooh Corner and an easy walk to the Pooh Sticks bridge and other Ashdown Forest spots. Reliable parking in their lot, which is a big plus if you’ll be travelling by car. Great food and drinks at the pub as a bonus! Would absolutely recommend!"

"We had a wonderful, relaxing stay. The staff were all very welcoming and accommodating throughout. The grounds and rooms are well maintained and food in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast were prepared to a very high standard. The only thing I would mention is that there is a breakfast buffet advertised by Expedia; flagging that this is only for continental and the hot food is made to order (I imagine because it is a smaller amount of rooms than a larger property, so reduces waste and improves quality control), just to avoid any disappointment for those who prefer to choose themselves how many items/type of hot food they prefer. However, as above, the quality of the breakfast was excellent and there were plenty of options to suit all palates and a range of dietary requirements."

"A nice location and convenient to drive into Brighton from here. Hotel was old and showed its age in places. Rooms were clean and tidy but the floor is very squeaky, and appears the same in other rooms as we could hear movement in other rooms. Nice walk around the hotel in the evening. Left too early to have a breakfast. Evening food and drink was ok, staff were very helpful."
