"we really enjoyed. The kids had a lot of fun. There was a lot of amazing activities! The staff was there and helped, but didn’t feel as welcoming as they couldn’t be. There was a pillow that had dry blood on it in our room. We didn’t see it at the so that definitely knocked on a star, but everything else was clean."

"The room and bathroom were very clean. Pool and hot tub amazing. Only complaint I have is we had 4 people. We were given 3 towels, 2 wash clothes, 2 mini soap and 2 tiny bottle of shampoo (2 of us have looong hair). They cleaned the room. Took the used towels but didn’t give new ones."

Pier Blue Inn Old Saybrook - Essex

"The vibe of PBG didn’t quite match up with my original expectations for a coastal beachside inn, but we had a great time. This was largely due to a room upgrade upon arrival and the kindness of the inn keeper. I’d request a room at the back of the property, which has a gorgeous view out onto the marshes and faces the West so the sunrise doesn’t rain in through your window in the morning. The bed was very comfortable, the rooms were quiet despite being on a main road, and the AC worked great. Oh, and hot tip. The Tea Kettle restaurant across the road has a fantastic breakfast."
