"Our second stay at the Grand Savoia in Genoa. Wonderful hotel, full of history and old world luxury. Room was spacious & clean. Staff took care of every request we made. Breakfast spread was one the best we have experienced in Italy. Massage service at the spa was wonderful. Bathtub may be difficult for elderly and or persons with mobility issues, at least in our room."

"The location near the central train station is one of the best reasons to stay here. Also, the breakfast buffet was reasonably priced, and I guess this is an Italian thing, but it was excellent. Coffee is always great, food choices are the standard fair when in Italy. Very fresh. Our only complaint was we were on the first floor near the buffet prep station. It was a loud wake up call each morning. Of course the first morning we did not notice as we were up before dawn, getting acclimated to the time change. Last complaint was the impossible small shower. I’m not a large man, but I could barely move without turning off the water or worse changing the temperature. Oh well it’s an Italian thing I guess. Overall a good hotel, stay on floor 2 or higher. Hard to beat the price we paid."

"We stayed at the Melia several times on business. This time was vacation and the we had contacted the hotel for restaurant recommendation before our stay. Received a very prompt and friendly reply. We went to one of the recommended restaurants and it was excellent. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly and also gave us a great restaurant recommendation."
