"The hotel is older and shows its wear. Overall the price was right and it was a good stay. The bed was comfortable. We had a one bedroom suite. The AC unit is in the bedroom (which is good), but it had been off so our room temp was hot, about 80 degrees, it took most of the night to cool down and the cooler air didn’t get to the living space. A lot of reviews raved about the breakfast, it was nothing special, basic hotel fare."

"Clean room with comfortable beds. The outside looks a little deserted, but the inside feels updated. The breakfast was good: waffles, eggs, bacon, cereal, yogurt, toast, etc."

President Abraham Lincoln Springfield - DoubleTree by Hilton

President Abraham Lincoln Springfield - DoubleTree by Hilton

8/10 Good
"The hotel has an excellent central location in downtown Springfield. I was able to park directly outside on the street, where parking was free at the weekend, and check-in was very efficient. The room was slightly dated but a good size, spotlessly clean and perfectly comfortable for my one-night stay. Most of Springfield’s principal historic sites were within easy walking distance, including the Old State Capitol, the current State Capitol and Lincoln’s home. There were also plenty of nearby bars and restaurants, making the hotel an ideal base for exploring the city centre. I ordered a take out meal from the hotel’s bar and restaurant. The food was adequate rather than memorable, and the restaurant was extremely quiet for a Saturday evening—I was its only customer at the time. Overall, I would recommend the President Abraham Lincoln Hotel for a short stay when visiting central Springfield, particularly because of its excellent location."
