I booked a one-night stay at Hotel Hayat in Calgary through Expedia for $300, expecting at least the basics to be taken care of. Unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory.
First, the hotel had no parking available — for that price, I expected at least secure on-site parking. I was told to park two streets away, which was inconvenient and honestly unacceptable for a downtown hotel.
Worse, the washroom in my room was clogged and not usable. For a so-called hotel in this price range, that’s just poor maintenance and service. I reported the issue, but there was no timely resolution.
Overall, it felt like I overpaid for a very less than mediocre experience. Between the lack of parking, staff management and the non-functional bathroom, I left totally disappointed. I would not recommend staying here unless major improvements are made.
