「Very friendly and welcoming staff. This is a five hundred year old building so don't expect a Premier inn with nice even floors and shiny paintwork, however if you want a pub hotel with real character this place is a gem. Every member of staff was great and couldn't do enough to make the stay perfect. Unfortunately we didn't get to have a meal there but the breakfast is absolutely worth getting up for. We will be back. 」

We especially liked that you could always go to the reception area to pick up extra tea bags, coffee, sugar, etc. to use with the kettle in the room. During our three-day stay, the room was cleaned on request, and towels were changed upon request as well. When I asked for fresh towels, they arrived promptly—and as a lovely...

「Checked in Sunday evening at 8:45. Went to bar, ordered drink, about to order food. Power cut. Emergency lighting for rest of night, no food, limited everything else. No water pressure so couldn't shower etc. Staff didn't know what was going on or what to do. It was a problem just at the hotel, not the local area. No explanation or apology at check out.」
