The journey for the first day was about 12 miles (19-20 km). We were walking into a fairly stiff wind for most of the day, but there was no rain and not much climbing. So, all in all, a pleasant stroll along the beach with amazing scenery. Highly recommend this hike.

Carew Castle

Regarded as one of the most impressive castles in Wales, visitors to Carew Castle can trace the structure’s history from Norman fortifications to when it became an Elizabethan country home owned by Sir John Perrot, possibly an illegitimate son of Henry VIII, before its eventual abandonment in the 17th Century.
