「We stayed for 1 night in June. We were originally allocated a room on the ground floor near the bar area, which under normal circumstances would have been fine, the room itself was very nice. However, we have a child undergoing cancer treatment and she would not have settled. Paul, who I believe to be the owner manager, was very accommodating and went to great lengths to ensure we could have a lovely stay at this hotel. 「Booked a double room but got a room with 3 single beds. Not the end of the world but not what I booked. Beds were uncomfortable. Mattress was really thin, when you sat on it you were basically sat on the bed base and when you laid on the bed you could feel the springs in your back and side. Although this is a dog friendly hotel which I think should be made more clear when looking for hotels. I do think allowing dogs in a dining area is acceptable. 「A beautiful B & B run by Karen in a tiny hamlet near Keswick. The room was delightful with comfortable bed and furnishings that matched the age and style of the building perfectly. Lovely view from the window over Karen's wonderful garden with, at the time I stayed, a hen with 8 tiny chicks. Parking was easy and the breakfasts filling and delicious. A wonderful stay in the Lake District.」
