View from the tallest mountain in Georgia, Brasstown bald.
This Rhododendron was growing straight out of the rock. When I came across it along the trail up to Brasstown visitor center. Rhododendron is a beautiful plant that grows along the smokies. It's full green leaves are very distinctive and in the south are on the plant almost year around. In late spring the plant blooms and shows large and beautiful flowers.

They had to close the park early due to incoming weather  we did not get to visit. I'll call before visiting next time.
