"We had a great stay! Probably more like 4.5 stars. Pros: - Location: steps from the subway station, convenience stores, and Universal City walk (with all its shops and restaurants). Was even closer to USJ and subway than I thought. - Nice staff, overall nice amenities. - Great view (we had a corner room). - Spa included and open all night long (but beware of some specific rules in Japan). Cons: - Room smaller than I thought for a corner one. When one person stays by the bed, it is hard for another one to squeeze between them and the wall. However, this is Japan and probably expected. - Laundry. Beware of long waits (only 5 machines for a large hotel) and the driers DO NOT DRY. I got a load through 5 drier cycles and it remained very damp. So I would just skip having your laundry done there. On a bright side, waiting for my laundry made me enjoy a few rounds of late-night spa. :) Funny: - Upon check in, I was offered an "upgrade" to "western-style" bathroom. A.k.a. a prolonged toiled without bidet. :) It must be some kind of joke between hotel's staff. No opinion: - Breakfast. Japanese style is just not for us. Also prices looked on a higher side. But people were lining up every morning. Lots of Japanese people stay there to visit USJ. "

"A lovely hotel located centrally within the city. Stunning views across the city - i had the mountain view and it was beautiful. Had limited interactions with the staff beyond check-in and check out, but they were very polite. The room was definitely on the small side with limited space for opening a large suitcase and moving around, but it had a massage chair in which was much appreciated after a lot of travelling. The bathroom has see through walls, but aso blinds to pull down for privacy, I was on my own so it was fine, but something to be aware of if you are sharing a room. The shower was a rainfall and the pressure and temperature were perfect, definitely the best shower I had over my trip. My only slight issue was that I could hear the noise from the city below, but was nothing that ear plugs couldn't fix. A really lovely hotel that I would definitely stay in again to continue exploring Kobe"

"Clean room"

"The property was very beautiful and convenient for those visiting for Universal Studios. It is right next to the train station for easy access when traveling. We were there for 12 days. Staff cleaned the room each day and left fresh pjs for each person. They did have kid pjs that fit my 12 year old, but none that would fit my 1 year old. They did have hot springs on the spa floor but unfortunately I am covered in tattoos so that is definitely a no go. I did not even attempt so I can't comment on that area. They had a nice tea time between 1400-2100 that served coffee, tea, soft drinks, and pancakes. We did not add the breakfast because we wanted to explore other options. The breakfast did look tasty though. There were coffee shops and a McDonalds in the area that opened around 0630-0700 so we frequent those as well. The staff were very friendly. Fully stocked with all toiletry items needed. Had a nice view of Universal Studios from my room window. Had enough space for my family of 4. All in all I would revisit."

"First time traveling to Osaka , Japan with my son great location right next to transportation . we were able to save money on commuting by navigating their train system . the rooms were a big small , however cozy . staff were helpful and great with they are only very strict at check in if you take a morning flight the checking is exactly at 3 pm . breakfast was buffet style from 6:30 -‘ - 10 am which was great clean and delicious food . If you traveling with kids deff recommend . "

"Great hotel. Since I figured beds are tiny I booked a room with 3 beds so we all (my toddler also) can sleep great without having to squeeze into each other like in Kyoto. Clean and easy to get to from the Sannomiya train station. We took a nice walking stroll through surroundings and it's within walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants! Staff was helpful when I had questions and the room was clean."

"This was the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced in Japan. 1. The hotel struggled to find my reservation and made the check-in process far more difficult than necessary. 2. I was charged an additional 5% credit card fee because of a clerical error by hotel staff (which management refused to correct.) 3. When I requested a taxi to the airport, the hotel staff booked a ride for me through their preferred taxi service; upon arrival at the airport, I was charged a "gaijin tax" by the driver and paid nearly double the Kobe city taxi rate for my fare. 4. At checkout, I handed the hotel staff a stamped postcard to mail out for me and they flat out refused it, instructing me to "go to the post office." 5. There was a lot of anti-foreigner policing by staff near the lobby area, where I was bizarrely followed by an employee and subsequently asked to leave the lounge area (even though domestic guests were allowed to stay.) ... Overall, this hotel stay was terrible. Everything comes down to the awful, impassionate, and intolerant staff, who made me feel unwelcomed as a guest (and used as a customer.) If you have the choice, stay elsewhere in Kobe and save yourself a horrible customer service experience."
