"Went with high expectations but was extremely disappointed. 3 star hotel more like 2 star, stayed in nicer 3 star hotels. Needs money spent on updating and repairing. Glad I got a deal, not worth full asking price."

"Our stay at Ballathie was excellent. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were so friendly and helpful, the food outstanding and the grounds stunning. "The reception staff were all lovely and super helpful. We had a minor problem with the shower and the receptionist sent the maintenance man straight away. We opted in for text alerts which was really helpful to ask questions about the restaurant, the pool etc. Unfortunately we didn’t use the pool on our first two days, then it was out of action on the final day of our trip, when we’d planned to go. But that was the only slight disappointment. The food in the Waterside Restaurant was lovely, and the service was great. We had eaten in other restaurants in the vicinity (The Courtyard and Tayside Marina) but the service in those wasn’t as good as The Waterside The cottage was clean and had everything we needed including fridge and dishwasher. We enjoyed the spacious balcony as the weather was sunny and we could sit out of an evening enjoying the peace and tranquility. We also remarked on the very well kept grounds "

"Unfortunately due to a outbreak of norovirus within the hotel we had to cut our break short. And my daughter has caught it also 😞. Up until then we were all having a lovely time. "
