"Great location for beach and transport links. Initially a very aesthetically pleasing bright airy apartment… closer inspection reveals a shabby chic appearance with paintwork requiring a fair bit of touch up. Nonetheless, a very comfortable apartment and super bed. Would question the safety of an overhead microwave (I’m 5ft 10 and found it somewhat precarious!) All the utensils one might need though provision of small bottles of oil/salt would be useful. Signage displaying a rather cheeky and hefty charge to be imposed if dishes aren’t washed prior to departure, left me gathering my jaw from the floor, but I duly complied. Quite noisy overhead so would advise requesting top floor or bring earplugs. Great shower and nice toiletries. I would definitely recommend. Really welcoming staff and nice lollipops 😃"
"J'ai séjourné plusieurs fois dans cet hôtel ainsi qu'au Mercure qui y est jumelé et je les recommande tous les 2. Localisation ultra centrale au pied de la gare et à 2mn de marche de la plage.
Pour l'ibis la réception se fait via l'accueil du Mercure à quelques mètres lorsque l'accueil est fermé à l'ibis."
"I stayed at Hotel Cocoon in Ostend for one night. The room itself was nice and a good size, and the location is definitely a strong point—right on the beach and very close to plenty of restaurants and bars.
However, there were a few issues that affected the stay. The room was quite cold and the thermostat didn’t seem to be working, which made it uncomfortable overnight. The shower gel bottle was also empty and hadn’t been refilled, which was a bit disappointing. Parking is available, but at €30 per night per car, it felt quite expensive.
The overall atmosphere of the hotel wasn’t particularly welcoming, which took away from the experience a bit.
Overall, it’s a well-located hotel with decent rooms, but a few improvements and attention to detail would make a big difference."
"Cannot fault this hotel. The staff were fantastic and the amenities great. All things thought of for all ages, the spa, the pool, the games room and the ball pit. Truly something for everyone. Great place to stay if you’re visiting Brugge and have access to a car or the coastal tram for beaches and sights."
"Listing for this booking hides that towels and parking are not available without additional costs, and that beds need to be made by guests and rubbish taken out by guests. Bringing towels with us from abroad and taking them back as wet towels wasn’t something I was expecting when I made the booking. All of this is mentioned on the follow up communication "
"Great location, staff on reception very friendly. Overall bedroom was ok but the state of the floor in the shower was quite disgusting. The grout needed cleaning it was all brown and yellow and I didn't want to go in the shower bare foot! "
