A charming little pub with rooms. Overall the pub is well kept but the rooms could definetly use some tlc. Our room had a big damp spot on the roof and the curtain rod was hanging of the windowseal .. lamps were dusty as were the bedside tables. But other than a few cosmetic issues it was an okay stay for the price!

Noisy in the room until the pub closes - guess I should have expected that. When the pub closed, it was fine. No double glazing so you can hear everything from the beer garden seating too. All fine, so long as no one is there very late, or no one is there very early.

This is a nice hotel but I would advise booking a room on the second floor as none of the rooms have carpets so I didn't get a lot of sleep due to the people upstairs repeatedly getting up and walking about at all hours followed by the draymans delivery early in the morning which was right below my room. Its a perfectly good stay and very well situated in Bala,.... just make sure you book a second floor room.

We arrived to find the room we had booked on the first floor had been trashed the night before and the only available room was on the second floor . The problem for us was my husband is recovering from hospital so the extra stairs didn't help. That said the staff were amazing and did all they could to help us and although it was a smaller room it was lovely. We had several meals in the hotel which were very good and would recommend The White Lion Royal.
