No need to leave the hotel for meals as the hotel has a quaint restaurant, with various cuisine options and offers indoor/ outdoor dining. The chef is friendly and talented. He adds west coast flare to classic meals. The Captain Crunch french toast and patty melt were 2 favorites. He even helped jump my battery after I left my lights on! Easily, the best upcoming hotel in Deland."

"This is a tranquil property on the St. John's river. Rooms are clean, comfortable and updated. We enjoyed listening to the frogs croaking at night across the river and watching the light change at sunrise from the balcony over coffee. We saw a morning space shuttle launch from the property too. It is about 12 minutes from restaurants and groceries in Deland. There is no breakfast served but there is an ample mini fridge/freezer in the rooms and a microwave so we bring a few snacks, a bottle of wine and breakfast supplies. The office has snacks and drinks too. Deland has plenty of restaurants, bars and a few museums to explore. There are several State Parks with Springs nearby and Volusia Speedway for dirt track stock racing. "

"Very nice B & B in Lake Helen. It could not have been more peaceful. The Island room was clean and comfortable.The breakfast was fine, but not elaborate. Hugo the host, was very pleasant and had a lot of info about the area. A great place to get away if visiting the areas springs or the mystic village of Cassadaga."
