Fabulous and quiet stay. Only complaint was that the air conditioning seemed to be on a timer and would automatically turn off. Otherwise, excellent.

A lovely boutique hotel with friendly staff and lounge spaces with complimentary drinks and snacks in the afternoon in a period building and spacious quiet rooms. Very relaxing and so close to the museums. We’ve been to Amsterdam several times and I would absolutely book this hotel again!

Comfortable beds. On arrival the member of staff on duty said nothing, did not even acknowledge us. We had to check if we were at the reception for the hotel. Other staff members were friendly. Breakfast was of good quality but no cooked items and portions small.

Nice property & location. Booking w/Expedia was easy but it meant I was unable to upgrade directly with hotel. After I booked the upgrade on Expedia, the hotel team said they did not receive the communication from Expedia & no rooms were available which was disappointing.

We had an amazing stay, we had a small room which was a good size for two people. The staff were really helpful, I have a gluten intolerance and they provided gluten free bread at breakfast and told me which of the snacks were also gluten free. It was a really lovely, safe area I’d definitely stay here again if I returned to Amsterdam.

The Jan Van Luyken is a connected set of Amsterdam townhouses in a perfect location for visiting the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum as well. The transportation adjacent to the property provides streetcar and bus access to the broader city and also the airport. These features alone make it an easy choice for museum lovers! The property itself offers a buffet breakfast that provides a good start for the day - Breads, Croissants, Fruit, Eggs, Lox and Juices.....and of course Coffee and Tea. Ample to begin your day in Amsterdam. In the evening you will find an hour of savory snacks, as well as beer and wine for cocktail hour before venturing out for an evening in Amsterdam. The staff are very helpful and eager to please.....the public areas are comfortable and invite you to stay and read a book or visit for a while. There is also a garden area and a gym for those who follow a routine. Loved our stay at the Jan Van Luyken!!!

Checking in and out was a breeze and the staff were incredibly helpful. The room felt so cozy, it felt like a home away from home especially when compared to the sterile hotel rooms commonly found when traveling. The breakfast and complimentary beverage fridge really made the trip feel personal and luxurious, without feeling stuffy and overdone. Definitely would stay here again!

We had an amazing experience during our two-week stay! The staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and always willing to go above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of options, and all of the hotel amenities were excellent. The location was also perfect, very central and convenient, with easy access to public transportation and many museums and attractions within walking distance. It made exploring the city so easy and enjoyable. We truly appreciated the exceptional hospitality throughout our entire stay and would happily return. Highly recommended!
