Highly recommend hiking around the plantations in Shizhuo, and trying as much tea as possible. We didn't make it up to the Alishan National Scenic Area, but the hiking around the B&B was amazing.

We had a great family stay at the Alishan Hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The highlight was the location which is close to the start of most of the trails and sights.
