"The Grand Hotel Acores Atlantico was a great hotel to stay at for our first trip to Sao Miguel in the Azores. The hotel staff were all very helpful from arranging airport transportation for our arrival and departure to helping our group of 6 plan tours of the island. The hotel location was perfect for walking to restaurants or shopping or going across the street to swim in the ocean at the city of Ponta Delgado public swimming facility. Daily breakfast was included in our stay and was outstanding."

"Hotel is located almost right in the center of the city. Difficult to find initially as it is located on a "side street" for pedestrians but available for service vehicles and private cars for pick-up etc. Parking is on the street near the hotel about a 5 min. walk. Public parking is inexpensive (less than 1 Euro/hour) but only applicable from 08:00 to 19:00 . No limit on space occupation. Shopping and other restaurants are close by as is the harbor and other attractions. They have a nice , decent sized rooftop pool, which is clean and accessible. The breakfast which is included is exceptional both in its choices and quality with plenty of seating. It is air conditioned. Great spot and would definitely choose again. Elizabeth and Philip Nace."

"Very helpful and friendly staff. Room was very clean, bed very comfortable. The only issue was the weak air conditioning. It was a very hot day and the room did not feel cool despite the air conditioner set to the lowest possible setting. Enjoyed the bed and bathroom and the location. Nice hotel."

"The rooms were clean and front desk staff were helpful. My biggest complaint is breakfast. It didn't matter what time you got down there, there was never a clean table, replenishing food was very slow and only small amounts were brought out at a time. I think my biggest issue was that I would find hair (that was the same color) from the young girls working on some of the tops of where things like plates of cheese were. Although the young girls had their hair tied back they would be swinging their hair around. They should have hair nets on. Although, it seemed like there was quite a bit of staff around...there was a lot of chit chatting with guests and amongst each other."

"Excellent experience at the Caloura! Rooms, lobby, staff, restaurant, bar, pool, setting…Everything was wonderful! Highly recommend! Only issue we had was no spa services. Apparently they could not fill that role on their staff for this summer. My daughter was really looking forward to a spa day and although this was listed on their website, it was not an option. An unpleasant surprise amid an otherwise spectacular experience."
