The view was absolutely incredible. The staff — especially the man at the front desk — was extremely attentive, professional, and cheerful. The hotel itself was just amazing. The view from the room at the back was breathtaking. What I liked less was that the mattress was, for me, way too firm — or maybe just old and worn out.

What a wonderful place to stay! My husband and I came here on our honeymoon trip, and could not have been happier. The front desk staff were kind and informative. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast (and dinner) was amazing and delicious and so worth the price! It is located in such a great place too, right on the cliffside with a gorgeous view of the ocean, and within driving distance of plenty of other beautiful spots on the island (all of the island is beautiful to be honest). If you are looking for a place to stay- this is the one! We hope to return here again in the future :)

Lovely ocean front property with stunning views from the room. We enjoyed the grounds and how quiet and secluded the property is. Breakfast was fairly average but does the job. There is only soap in the washroom so be sure to bring what you need.

I enjoy the quiet and peaceful atmosphere of this property. The staff is very friendly and the facility is very clean. I found that the buffet dinner had less options than the years before. A peaceful and pretty clifftop stay in Caloura

We had a lovely stay at Caloura Hotel Resort. The location is quiet, remote, and beautiful—perched on the cliffs with peaceful sea views and lush gardens. It was especially nice to be able to walk down to the ocean through the grounds. The hotel feels very calm and relaxing, but you definitely need a car to get around. We had a ground-floor room overlooking the pool. The room itself was fairly basic but comfortable, and it was great to have a little balcony. The corridor outside had a strange smell when we first arrived, but the staff quickly resolved it after we mentioned it at reception. I wish I could remember the receptionist’s name (possibly Alfonso?)—he was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. We ate at the hotel restaurant a few times. The food was a bit hit-and-miss, but the staff were always apologetic and clearly doing their best. Overall, the friendliness and helpfulness of the team really made a difference and made up for anything the hotel might lack in luxury. Lots of free parking too. We’d happily stay again and would recommend it to others looking for a peaceful base on São Miguel.

The grounds of the property are beautiful! The large outdoor pool is also quite nice. Staff are friendly and the breakfast buffet had lots of tasty options. The room my son and I stayed in was basic in its decor, but the bed was comfy and the water pressure was strong. The location is tucked away and there isn’t much in town, but a 5 minute drive gets you to the highway.
