「Great view from the room and the cafeteria/restaurant. The mountain and the river behind are spectacular. The room itself is quite nice and big as well. However, the only public transportation to get to the hotel is by bus. Even it is only three minutes walk to downtown, still strongly recommend to rent a car if you would like to explore more in the neighborhood. The hotel has its own underground parking lot. So it is not a problem for parking.」

「This was the most incredible find!!! Casa do Santo is located on a gorgeous and historic property. The building and room were totally gorgeous and the family that runs this hotel are lovely. We had dinner and breakfast onsite and the meals were delicious and oh so homey! We visited during the off season which was already stunning but we plan to be back some future late summer when the vineyards are full!」

「Way up on the mountainside with a beautiful view of the valley and the Douro River. Valeria is a wonderful host and the place is truly something special. The beds are super comfortable, the bathrooms fantastic and she thought of every detail. 」

「I was never able to get to the hotel due to road closures caused by flooding in the area. The hotel never communicated to me via any means before hand. I made multiple attempts trying to get to the hotel through different roads and all ended up being closed at a some point. The sun went down and it was very dark. We were lucky to eventually drive out of the scary dangerous roads. A refund request was denied by the hotel. While I understand the policy, I don’t understand why the hotel never...

「We really enjoyed our stay. Francisco was the best -very friendly, great service, and fantastic recommendations for dinner, boat tour, and other quintas to visit. It was nice to meet the owners as well and talk with them about the harvest season. Will definitely recommend and will come back the next time we’re in the Douro.」
